Charge what printing really costs you.
Tobera adds up the filament, the electricity, your printer's wear, your time and the prints that fail, and tells you what to charge and whether the job is worth it. On your iPhone, offline.
- Margin 67.71
- Finishing 62.50
- Platform fee 18.81
- Setup 31.25
- Material 5.00
- Machine wear 2.00
- Failed prints 0.63
- Electricity 0.19
- Price 188.09
0.19 USD
That is the electricity for the whole order.
0.1 % of the price. What weighs is your time: preparing plates and finishing pieces add up to $93.75, 92 % of the cost, and the app charges it as one more layer.
The same math, on your phone.
This is the app with the example order: $188.09, the same as the bench above, because both use the same engine. You enter what the plate weighs and how long it takes, and the price builds as you type.

Napkin math comes up short.
you charge $27.08 less on this order-
Adding the margin to the cost
- Cost
- 101.57
- × 1.40
- 142.20
- you keep 28.6 %
- ÷ 0.60
- 169.28
- you keep 40 %
You asked for 40 %. Add it to the cost and you charge 142.20, keeping 28.6 %. Tobera divides the cost by 0.60: 169.28, and then you do keep 40 %.
-
Multiplying by the fee
Multiplying by 1.10 gives 186.21; Etsy takes its 10 % and you receive 167.59: you lose $1.69 on every order. Divide by 0.90, charge 188.09, and you get what you asked for.
-
Adding the failure rate
With 8 % of prints failing, adding 8 % is not enough: every bad piece is printed again and the machine works 8.7 % more.
What each printer hour earns.
$4.51 on this order: cold against your hourly rate of $25.00. A printer only has 24 hours a day: the job that pays more per hour beats the one that leaves more money in total. The app reads it as temperature, from below zero to glowing, always with the figure next to it.
The quote stays put.
Issue it and it's frozen: if PLA goes up tomorrow, the one you sent still says $188.09. It goes out as a PDF with your business name, and you decide whether the client sees the breakdown or just the total.

Questions
How much is it?
Free for up to 3 projects, 3 machines and 3 PDF quotes a month. For more, Pro is a one-time purchase, no subscription: 49.99 USD on the US App Store.
Does it work for resin?
Yes. Material is charged per liter instead of per kilo, and a resin printer has its own power draw and lifespan.
Where does my data live?
On your phone. No account, no cloud, and the app works in airplane mode.
What is the real margin?
What you keep from every dollar you charge, after fees. In the example you asked for 40 % and the real margin is 36.0 %: Etsy takes the difference, and the app shows it before you quote.
